Round 10 of the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship began with Friday practice at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, as teams prepared for Sunday's 44-lap Belgian Grand Prix.

TGR Haas F1 Team drivers Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon kicked off FP1 running baseline stints on the Pirelli P Zero Yellow medium tires. Both drivers switched onto the Red soft compound later in the session, with Bearman recording a best lap of 1:49.010 for P13 while Ocon landed P16 with a 1:49.449.

FP2 - held later in the afternoon, saw Bearman and Ocon head out with the Yellow medium tire on their respective VF-26s to start the hour-long session. A red flag stop for gravel at Turn 14 momentarily paused action, before the pair swapped to softs to set their fastest times of the session - a 1:47.792 for Bearman (P12) and 1:47.958 for Ocon (P14). As drivers left the garage for their scheduled high-fuel runs, another red flag was brought out for the Alpine of Pierre Gasly, who hit the barriers at Turn 13 and consequently stopped on track. Lights went green on the session with only two minutes of running remaining, allowing drivers to take the checkered flag for practice starts.

TGR Haas F1 Team ran a total of 77 laps on Friday across FP1 and FP2 - 40 by Ocon, with 37 from Bearman.

Ollie Bearman: "It's been a positive day. We've brought a new front wing which is not a groundbreaking step, but it's a step in the right direction, and I'm happy with how the car has been feeling, that's positive. In the end, we need to focus on what we have, and honestly the balance was pretty good, so I'm happy. Hopefully, the weather will play into our hands over the rest of the weekend. When things get cooler, you uncover less of your limitations, of which, we have quite a few. I think the cool favors us and we will do our very best to be up there where it counts on Saturday and Sunday."

Esteban Ocon: "It's been interesting to complete the first laps with the 2026 cars around Spa-Francorchamps today. It's quite difficult to get the energy deployment correct in the right places. We luckily escaped the rain, as it rained in between sessions but not during, so we'll need to monitor that tomorrow, like we always have to in Spa. There's some small details that we need to improve ahead of tomorrow, so we'll be focusing on that overnight."

Ayao Komatsu, Team Principal: "It was a pretty decent Friday. We ran quite a significant test plan because of various things that came out of the previous two races for us to understand and make progress. I'm really happy that all of the team - trackside and factory - came up with a very good plan, and both drivers have been really understanding in what we need to do. We've done basically everything we set out to achieve today, the only thing we couldn't do due to the red flag was our long run, so we'll have to look at that for the race. In terms of making progress on understanding and making a car that has better characteristics, I feel we really made a step, so it's been a good Friday."
