The two Sauber drivers Giancarlo Fisichella and Felipe Massa go for Subaru: while the Brazilian is driving an Impreza Turbo WRX STi "Sauber Edition" on normal roads, his Italian team-mate is using a Legacy AWD "Executive" for private travel. Both cars are provided by Emil Frey Group in Switzerland. The company has been a Sauber partner for over seven years, supplying fleet vehicles to the team.

For family man Fisichella the Legacy AWD "Executive" is an ideal car: "I have two small children, so I need a lot of space and flexibility. The Legacy Sports Tourer offers both. In addition, it has a highly comprehensive equipment package and a powerful engine, so driving pleasure is guaranteed as well." The Legacy AWD is fitted with a 245-hp three-litre Boxer engine that transmits its power to all four wheels by a five-speed automatic gearbox. Standard equipment includes a navigation system, cruise control, an automatic air conditioning system, six airbags, ABS and electronic stability control.

Felipe Massa has opted for a particularly sporty model. The two-litre turbocharged engine of his Impreza WRX STi "Sauber Edition" develops 265 hp, accelerating the compact saloon from 0 to 100 kph in 5.5 seconds. A six-speed transmission with sporty close-ratio gearchange and the all-wheel drive with two limited slip differentials ensure that this power is transmitted to the wheels in an optimum manner. Massa, who is known for late braking, does not get sweaty hands even when approaching critical corners: large-sized Brembo brakes combined with a sport ABS provide excellent deceleration. In the special "Sauber Edition" a leather interior with red seams and the embroidered Sauber logo as well as a carbon badge with Peter Sauber's signature create the appropriate ambience. "The Subaru Impreza STi is great fun. It has a lot of power, excellent brakes, and its suspensions are tuned for very sporty driving," Felipe Massa says, praising the qualities of his WRX STi.

The partnership between Sauber and Emil Frey Group has a long tradition, now going into its eighth year. EFAG provides the Swiss team with a fleet of vehicles meeting the high demands of a Formula 1 team. Brands selected for the team's fleet include Jeep, KIA, MG, Rover and Subaru.
