As he completed his slow-down lap at the end of yesterday's race, Lewis Hamilton made no secret of how he felt.

"Thank God that's over," he said over his radio, "that was the most boring race I've ever participated in."

Later, the four-time world champion said that it is now perhaps time organisers considered making changes.

"It's got the biggest build-up, it's the most special race of the year," he told reporters, "and I was thinking, 'it's such a shame that the race isn't as exciting as the whole spectacle and the track is'.

"There's no place like it," her continued, "but I think F1 needs to apply a different rule or schedule or something. You shouldn't be able to do a one-stop here. It's just insane how little I was pushing, the least that I can ever remember."

Indeed, the Briton, who has criticised the proposed layout for the Miami Grand Prix, offering his services as a consultant in terms of an alternative, suggests that Monaco too needs changes.

"I said to Prince Albert the other day maybe it's time to make it longer," he said of the track. "We are doing one minute elevens around here, there's more roads. Do we change this great track and make it even better.

"Maybe it's got to be a different format or something here. You shouldn't be able to do a one stop because that's less exciting for fans. There's got to be some mix up, we need to mix up things more, but I don't know what it is.

"If you look at NASCAR they put in a bunch of safety cars in for no reason at all to bunch the pack up," he added. "Like there's a tear off on the track which they don't even have tear offs. There's like a hundred yellow flags, I mean safety cars, in the race but it brings them altogether.

"It's just the greatest track... maybe we need two races here, who knows. That was the longest 78 laps ever. It was long."

"Monaco ...Yawn .. only badboy Max went from 20 to 9th. seems not impossible to pass....but.the top ZZzzzz.
If they want to keep a Monaco GP take it from the championship tally . The top drivers are so afraid to lose points they don't even try to pass."

"I would have thought driving around for an entire race and not encountering other drivers, à la Spain, would have been more boring for him. At least in this race, drivers were close enough to have half a chance of overtaking.
Personally, I thought this race was more interesting than Spain but I would never suggest changing a track for my own enjoyment!"

"I remember another relatively boring Monaco GP, and then, leading the race with over 50 seconds Senna crashed 10 or so laps from the finish line. Monaco GP can be turned on it`s head in a blink of an eye. It is the place where Jarno Trulli won, as well as Frenchman in a French car (Olivier Panis/Ligier). No need to fix anything with Monaco GP. "

"There would be more passing if the drs zone was longer... ( maybe remove the Nouvelle Chicane ?)
They could also easily add an extra bit between Casino and Mirabeau Haute without dramatically altering the racetracks personality ... and it wouldn’t hurt to have Monaco specific tires that die in less than 30 laps. More pit stops =more variations.

"The place is marvelous, what with all the hype and all. Its time F1 stopped racing in street circuits, the cars are just too fast now. Baku is an absolute bore, Monaco this year was a yawn, Miami will be just as boring."

"Would Lewis have said this if he had won (and could celebrate with the Biebs)? I've been fortunate enough to see the GP 'in the flesh' and it's quite amazing. There are often many processional races and it's all part of the season. It allows things to be mixed up and a car or driver that's may not be the quickest can win through determination, luck, and strategy. It's all part of the sport regardless of how entitled some feel they are... I'll have to speak to Prince Albert about this!"

"Hamilton wants NASCAR level of safety cars???? That's insane. NASCAR is unwatchable for the frequency of what they call "Cautions", which are often caused by drivers carelessly or intentionally smashing their cars into other cars. Just what F1 needs!

If Lewis so bored there, then should get pole and race from the front. Or does that bore him too? Sheesh, every time I think he's matured, he comes out with something like that."
