Ferrari and Racing Bulls in action at Imola as Pirelli tyre test concludes.

On Tuesday, Ferrari was in action at the track which could host the season finale, tasked with testing prototype tyres for the 2027 season.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton was behind the wheel in the morning, while Charles Leclerc completed the programme in the afternoon.

The compounds tested were the three softest in the range, the C3, C4 and C5 and both the British and Monegasque drivers carried out five-lap performance runs with a couple of options for each compound before identifying the most suitable solution through a series of long runs.

Hamilton completed a total of 64 laps, with a best time of 1:19.485, while Leclerc completed 63 laps, setting a fastest lap of 1:18.832.

On Wednesday, Antonio Giovinazzi took over the Ferrari, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad drove the Racing Bulls car.

The New Zealander, who has contested the last three races for Red Bull, completed a number of performance runs on the C3 and C4 compounds during the morning before switching his focus to a series of long runs on the C4.

Lindblad followed a similar programme, although in the afternoon he tested the C3 and C5 compounds. WEC champion Giovinazzi worked exclusively with the C3, carrying out both qualifying simulations and long-distance runs.

Lawson completed 65 laps with a best time of 1:18.471, Lindblad recorded 73 laps, setting a time of 1:18.454, and Giovinazzi completed 135 laps, posting a best time of 1:19.894.

Across the two days of Pirelli testing a total of 400 laps were completed, equating to 1,219 miles (1963 kms).

The next development test is scheduled for mid-October at the Magny-Cours circuit in France, where the track's artificial watering system will be used to evaluate new solutions intended for wet-weather conditions.
