Alpine has announced that Mike Elliott is rejoining the team as Chief Technical Officer.

He rejoins the French outfit lead and oversee the technical and engineering functions at its factory at Enstone, having previously worked at the team as Principal Aerodynamicist from 2008 to 2012.

He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the French outfit, having worked in F1 for 23 years at Renault, McLaren, and most recently with Mercedes as Chief Technical Officer.

With a proven track record in the sport, having contributed to an impressive 8 Constructors' and 8 Drivers' Championships, Elliott's arrival at Enstone strengthens the team's technical capabilities as the team looks to build on the improved performances on track and close the gap to the top four teams.

First entering F1 as an aerodynamicist at McLaren in 2000, in the years that followed he was appointed Trackside Aerodynamicist, and Team Leader, Aerodynamic Performance before joining Renault in 2008 as Principal Aerodynamicist.

In 2012 he joined Mercedes as Head of Aerodynamics before being appointed Technology director in 2017.

Appointed Technical Director by the German team in 2021, succeeding James Allison, in 2023 he 'swapped' roles with Allison to become Chief Technical Officer, leaving Brackley later that same year.
