Spa and Suzuka to feature same tyre compounds

NEWS STORY
21/06/2018

The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps and the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka will both feature the same three tyre compounds; medium, soft and supersoft.

At both events one set of medium and one set of soft must be available for the race and one of them must be used at some point in the race, while the supersoft is the assigned tyre for Q3 in qualifying.

As far as Belgium is concerned, the compounds are a step harder than 2017 when the soft, supersoft and ultrasoft was used, though in 2016 the medium, soft and supersoft were available.

Though this year's compounds are all a step softer than their 2017 counterparts, in Japan last year the same medium, soft and supersofts were available.
