Following a double car finish at the Italian Grand Prix, the Cadillac Formula 1® Team heads directly from Monza, the oldest circuit on the calendar, to the newest - the Madring which makes its debut as the new home of the Spanish Grand Prix, for Round 14 of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship™.

Located on the outskirts of Madrid, the all-new Madring circuit sees F1® return to the Spanish capital for the first time since 1981. The purpose-built circuit combines custom-built sections with public roads around the IFEMA exhibition complex.

The 22-corner, 3.365-mile layout is expected to be fast and features significant elevation changes, including "La Monumental," a 270-degree banked corner stretching roughly a third of a mile. It is F1®'s first new track since the Las Vegas Strip Circuit appeared in 2023.

Marcin Budkowski: "Our debut in Madrid is a voyage into the unknown, and that's always exciting. We've seen the Pirelli data, offline and online simulation, and the same preparation tools we would for any other race - but with a new track, we never really know what we're going to get until the car goes out for a lap. It's a weekend that tests the whole team, both at the track and back at the factory, as we analyze data and hone our set-up parameters. For the first time this season, it will be a level playing field for all the teams and with that comes optimism and opportunity."

While the circuit is new to everyone, both Cadillac Formula 1® Team drivers bring significant experience of racing in Spain. Valtteri Bottas has contested 13 Spanish Grands Prix, in addition to the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix earlier this season. He has finished on the podium four times and started from pole position in 2019. Checo Pérez scored his first F1 points at the Circuit de Catalunya in 2011. He has scored points in 11 of his 15 Spanish Grands Prix appearances, with a best result of second in 2022, when he also set the fastest lap.

Checo Pérez: "I'm really looking forward to Madrid. It's a new circuit for everyone, so that makes it an exciting challenge and hopefully gives us some opportunities. From what we've seen, it looks like it will be fun but also demanding. A lot will depend on where we are on the grid, but I'm optimistic that we can make the most of the new venue and put ourselves in a position to fight for a strong result."

Valtteri Bottas: "Madrid should be an interesting weekend. The circuit looks like it's going to be a big challenge for everyone and hopefully it presents some opportunities for us. There are some different characteristics across the lap, so it will be important to maintain our recent reliability improvements and understand the track as quickly as possible so we can focus on setup. In these cars managing traffic is going to be tricky, especially with some of the tighter sections, so we need to stay focused and take any opportunities that come our way during the race. It's a new circuit for everyone, which should hopefully give us a chance to find something and have a strong weekend.
