Vettel blasts Mercedes

NEWS STORY

Clearly Red Bull is still as angry about Mercedes Barcelona test as it was two weeks ago, as Sebastian Vetel hits out at German team.

Along with Ferrari, Red Bull officially protested the Barcelona test once it found out about it, and while the Italian team soon found itself under investigation for a 'similar' test, the FIA now says it has no case to answer.

However, while Mercedes and Pirelli await the FIA's International Tribual - a date for which has yet to be set - Sebastian Vettel ensures that his - and his team's feelings - are made clear.

"It's a bit weird if the regulations don't allow you to test and one team goes testing," he told reporters in Montreal. "There's talk of an agreement and blah, blah, blah, but it's not good.

"What's the solution now?" he continued. "Does everyone have a go for three days or are they the only ones? It's just silly to come up with these discussions now."

"I see it as a critical issue," he told Suddeutsche Zeitung. "Each test kilometre is an advantage and Mercedes had the opportunity to test tyres that we will probably race at Silverstone. I think this is an advantage over all the other teams."

Meanwhile, Nico Rosberg was clearly lost for words at the officiasl press conference. Having previously refused to respond to questions about the test, the Monaco winner looked positively uncomfortable when asked why he and Lewis Hamilton wore "anonymous helmets" for the three day test.

Earlier in the day he was a little more forthcoming when questioned by Sky Sports about the test, insisting that his team had not benefited from the test.

"It was a full on Pirelli test," he said, "they dictate what we do. "We have no say whatsoever, they say you are doing that, that, that and that and the engineers that they have run our programme. So it is not for us to learn anything or to decide on anything that we do."

Asked if the ongoing row was distracting, he replied: "Not at all, the team is handling it and I am fully focussed on what I am doing, it has had no impact on me.

"I have nto noticed anything different in the preparations," he added. "All I know the team are working closely with the FIA to get through it quickly."
