FIA confirms DRS zone for Shanghai

NEWS STORY
13/04/2011

The FIA has confirmed that at this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, drivers will be able to activate their movable rear wings (DRS) about one-third of the way down the back straight - 0.56 miles (0.9 km) before Turn 14. The detection line is in Turn 12.

Drivers are only allowed to use the movable rear wing if they are within one second of the car ahead at the designated line going into the zone.

The FIA has also confirmed a number of changes to the circuit since last year's race including resurfacing on the approach to Turns 1, 8, 11 and 14. Furthermore, for improved drainage the levels of the verge on the left in Turn 5 have been altered and a 4.5m debris fence has been installed straight on at Turn 14 while further attempts have been made to improve drainage before and after Turn 16.
