No further action following first lap incidents

Having investigated the two incidents on the first lap of the Belgian GP, which saw four drivers eliminated, Race Stewards have decided to take no further action.

As ever, those involved in the incidents had different opinions, with Romain Grosjean openly accusing Jenson Button of taking him out.

"I made a very good start, moving up to thirteenth place and I was keeping a good pace but then Button took me out at turn five (Les Combes) and it was the end for me," said the Frenchman.

"I was on the outside of Heikki and turned in for the corner but quite simply Romain out-braked himself and hit my back wheel," said Button. "That was my race."

In the other incident, Jaime Alguersuari was a little more understanding. "At Turn 2, Jenson spun and Hamilton had to move to the left to avoid him, moving onto the part of the track that I was on," said the Spaniard. "We collided and my car was too damaged for me to continue."

While Lewis Hamilton said: "When Romain Grosjean spun Jenson around at Turn Five, everyone was trying to avoid them, so I slowed down to try and avoid the damage and got taken out by one of the drivers behind me, who was trying to avoid the accident too."

After hearing the explanations of the drivers and their representatives, the Race Stewards decided that no further action was necessary.
