Kubica to use KERS on Friday

Having opted not to use KERS in the opening two rounds of the Championship, BMW's Robert Kubica has revealed that he will use the controversial device in the Friday practice sessions in China.

Like several other drivers, the Pole has not been entirely at ease with the system, feeling that it is not 'user friendly' when it comes to some of the bigger drivers in the pitlane.

Consequently, in the first two rounds, the Pole opted to go without the system, making full use of the movable ballast rules, while teammate Nick Heidfeld, who is shorter and lighter, has used the system, finishing second in Malaysia.

Talking to reporters in China, Kubica admitted that he can see the system's potential, especially on a circuit such as Shanghai, however, he remains to be convinces as to whether it will be used in the race.

"We will have to test it and see," he said. "In Malaysia, but also in Australia, it was an advantage. But, running on my car there are some disadvantages that are bigger than for the other drivers, but I still hope the advantage will be bigger than the disadvantage."
