Stepney to meet with Ferrari?

NEWS STORY
18/07/2007

It's claimed that Nigel Stepney is seeking a meeting with his former employer, Ferrari, in an attempt to give the Italian team his side of the sabotage/espionage saga that has rocked F1 in recent weeks.

While numerous investigations continue, and McLaren awaits next Thursday's extraordinary meeting of the World Motor Sport Council, Stepney is said to be keen to try and set the record straight.

In recent days, while the main focus has been on Mike Coughlan and McLaren, Stepney has told of his suspicion that the whole story has been an attempt to discredit him. He also talks of intimidation, including high-speed car chases.

Now, according to his lawyer Sonia Bartolini, the Englishman is seeking a meeting with the Maranello outfit at which he will name those who he believes are involved in the plot against him.

According to Bartolini, "Ferrari has signalled its readiness for an encounter".
