It was a positive Saturday for Scuderia Ferrari HP at the British Grand Prix.

The team secured a podium finish and picked up 11 points in the morning Sprint before confirming its competitiveness in afternoon qualifying. Charles Leclerc will line up on the front row for tomorrow's race, which gets underway at 15:00 local time (16:00 CEST), with Lewis Hamilton on the second row in third place. The team built on the strong form it had shown in Friday's Sprint Qualifying and also made good use of the 100 kilometres completed in the Sprint to gather valuable data in race trim.

Charles and Lewis both progressed through Q1 at the first attempt using a set of used Soft tyres. In Q2, their initial laps would have been enough to make the cut, but the team elected to send both drivers out again to optimise preparation for Q3. In the decisive phase, both Hamilton and Leclerc still had two new sets of Soft tyres available. On their first runs, Charles set the third-fastest time, just ahead of his team-mate, before both drivers improved on their final attempts. Leclerc stopped the clocks in 1'28"286 to secure second place on the grid, behind Kimi Antonelli, while Hamilton posted a 1'28"458 to claim third.

Earlier in the day, the fourth Sprint of the season saw the Scuderia score a second place with Lewis and fifth with Charles. Starting from pole position, Hamilton led the race until lap nine of 17, when he was overtaken by Antonelli. Leclerc, who started fourth, lost a few places off the line but fought back strongly, first passing Oscar Piastri and then Max Verstappen to finish fifth.

The British Grand Prix (52 laps, 306.198 km) promises to be a closely fought contest. With both SF-26s starting at the front of the field, the Scuderia will have a range of strategic options and the opportunity to work as a team throughout the race. With plenty of points on offer, the aim will be to maximise every opportunity and convert the competitiveness shown so far this weekend into a strong result.

Charles Leclerc: In the Sprint, I lost a few positions at the start, and from then on, I had some battles to get further ahead. The pace was alright, and I have some ideas on what I'd like to change ahead of the race, so I look forward to working on that and hopefully making us even stronger.

I'm pleased with my qualifying. In the past few races I struggled to put it all together, so starting from the front row once again is a good feeling. There has been a lot of work behind the scenes to get here, so today is a positive for us. It's just the beginning, but a step in the right direction. I'll give it my all tomorrow to make our team and tifosi proud.

Lewis Hamilton: It's been a long day so a huge thank you to all the fans here. The atmosphere has been incredible and the support from the grandstands really gave me a boost in both the Sprint and in Qualifying. This morning I really enjoyed the fight with Kimi (Antonelli) and gave absolutely everything to bring home some good points with second place. As for Qualifying, of course I would be happier with a repeat of yesterday, but I expected both Kimi and Charles to improve today. Once again it was incredibly close, and having both cars up there gives us more opportunities for tomorrow. We'll look at all the options available to us and do everything we can with the strategy to fight for the best possible result for the team.

Fred Vasseur: Today's P2 and P3 is a good result for the team even if you always hope for more, as was the case yesterday. We saw a good comeback from Charles who was able to adapt to the changes we made on the car, has now found confidence in it and was able to push a bit more. Lewis also confirmed a strong level of performance and it's good to have the two cars together on the grid for tomorrow. Our pace was good in the Sprint this morning even if we saw with Kimi (Antonelli) that they still have an advantage in terms of top speed. We will have to see if we can do something in terms of strategy, and this is something we will work on tonight. All in all, today was a good day for the team with Lewis on the podium and Charles also scoring points in the Sprint.
