Massa excluded from Brazil GP results

NEWS STORY
15/11/2015

Felipe Massa has been excluded from the results of today's Brazilian GP following a tyre temperature infringement.

According to the Race Stewards the rear right tyre on his car did not comply with the maximum tread temperature as specified in the event preview of the official tyre supplier, a breach of Article 12.5.1 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations, Article 3.2 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations and Article 12.1.1.i of the FIA International Sporting Code.

When checked on the grid before the start of the race, in compliance with the FIA Technical Directive TD/029-15, the tyre tread was allegedly 27 degrees C above the maximum temperature allowed by Pirelli.

Ruling that Williams did not comply with the Technical & Sporting Regulations, the FIA’s International Sporting Code and the instructions of the Pirelli in the event preview, the Brazilian, who finished eighth on the road, was excluded from the results.

Williams has served notice that it will appeal.

"Still.... Mercedes was concerned about a time penalty over their entire set of tires being out of spec and Massa apparently had a single tire with an issue so he gets disqualified?!?!? This is not a balanced approach. Someone needs to get paid up with the right people "
