Shortly after its unveiling at Jerez today, Kamui Kobayashi took to the track in the new Sauber C31, albeit for filming purposes.

After today's promotional work, the Japanese driver will get his team's test programme underway tomorrow, before handing over to his team mate, Sergio Perez, who is on Wednesday and Thursday, before handing the car back again on Friday.

"I obviously can't make serious judgements on the car because we had just a promotional day and were running only demo tyres," said Kobayashi. "But still it is always a good start to the season when everything goes smoothly and according to plan. Being that perfectly on time actually is very Japanese and Swiss as well. All systems worked fine. It is a very nice feeling to be back in the car and with the team and I'm very much looking forward to proper testing now."
