Red Bull denies McLaren claims

Red Bull has denied claims made by McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh that they are running a controversial system on their cars which changes the ride height.

"There's no such system on our car," a Red Bull spokeswoman told reporters this afternoon in response to Whitmarsh's claim.

Earlier, Whitmarsh, while being interviewed by British broadcaster BBC, had suggested a number of teams were using such a system, however, when pushed to name names he said: "I think it looks like Red Bull and some other cars are able to run lower in qualifying than you would expect if they are then going to fill the car with fuel afterwards."

Over the course of the Melbourne weekend, it has been noticed that the wooden skidplate on the bottom of the Red Bulls throws up sparks, thereby indicating that the car is scraping the track surface, even while on a low-fuel qualifying run.
