Schumacher return "amazing" says Button

2009 world champion Jenson Button has described Michael Schumacher's return to F1 as "amazing" and admits he looks forward to defending his title against the German legend.

"I think it is amazing for the sport," Button told reporters at the end of his first full day at McLaren's Surrey HQ. "I think having four world champions racing, and one of them who has achieved more than anyone else in the sport, is great.

Having opted not to return to the track in 2009, when asked to step in for the injured Felipe Massa, the German shocked the world by announcing just a few months later that he had accepted an offer to join Mercedes, which had just bought Brawn GP, effectively taking Button's old seat.

"It's an unusual decision by Michael," said Button, "but he's obviously got his reasons, you've got to say fair play to Ross for getting him on board. It's great having him back on the grid and I look forward to the challenge this year with him."
