N.Technology loses FIA legal fight

NEWS STORY
11/11/2009

Italian F1 hopefuls N.Technology have lost their legal action against the FIA after a court in Paris rejected the case.

N.Technology's parent company MSC had taken the FIA to court following its failure to secure an entry in the 2010 Formula One World Championship, the Italian outfit claiming that it was rejected by the FIA for choosing to use a powerplant other than Cosworth.

The case was heard last month at the Tribunal de Grande Instance, when, according to reports, the FIA's defence was described as "arrogant and embarrassed".

However, yesterday, while no explanation as to how the ruling was arrived at, N.Technology's case was rejected.

The Paris Tribunal de Grande Instance witnesses another F1 case in two weeks time when former Renault boss Flavio Briatore takes the FIA to court, the Italian claiming that the World Motor sport Council's ruling in the 'Crashgate' saga was a breach of natural justice, a breach of the rights of the defence and that the FIA's manifest was excessive and an abuse of power.
