2007 GP2 Series champion Timo Glock is at the centre of a tug-of-war involving BMW and Toyota.

There has been talk in the paddock of the German having signed a deal with the Japanese team, which would see him replace Ralf Schumacher in 2008, however, BMW, which currently employs the 25-year-old as a test driver, claims that it has a long-term deal in place, even though he would not be given a race seat until 2009, at the earliest.

Consequently, the case will now go to the Contract Recognition Board (CRB), which raised the 'contract clash' in the first place. It appears that when Toyota filed its contract with Glock, the CRB reported that the deal conflicted with a contract already in place, with BMW.

Earlier this year, BMW, which had given highly-rated German youngster Sebastian Vettel his F1 race debut, subsequently lost the driver to Toro Rosso, whose parent company (Red Bull) had a long-term deal with the 20-year-old.

The CRB should reveal its decision in the next few weeks.
