Trident Racing's Silverstone preview

NEWS STORY
05/07/2007

A true racing temple is ready to welcome the stars of the 2007 GP2 Series for one of the most important rounds of the year, thanks to the British legacy, tradition, and devotion in motorsport. Trident Racing is entering the weekend fully-staffed, with the addition of a firm desire of redemption after the disappointing weekend suffered in Magny-Cours. Both drivers are ready to race, despite the unknown track, and pursuit the deserved good results. With the exception of the first practice, run on the usual timing, all the remaining weekend schedule will be adapted to CET times.

Kohei Hirate: "The race at Silverstone will be sort of 'blind date' to me, because I never raced on this track. I won't have too much time to learn, but I tried to keep in mind all the corners in a clear way. I hope to find a good feeling in a short time, to get a fine start in a weekend that means a lot to me"

Pastor Maldonado: "This weekend it will be my first at Silverstone too; I've no reference points, but I'm still confident. I'll try to use the first practice to learn the track, and I think I'll like it a lot. I'm usually turned on by the fast corners and the tough braking. I definitely think that Silverstone will find a place among my favourite racetracks"

Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Team Principal: "The race at Silverstone has the taste of a possible revenge, after the two unfortunate races had at Magny-Cours: despite the great potential shown by Hirate and Maldonado in practice and qualifying, we couldn't increase our championship points. The British event is somehow an occasion to get back on track and continue to look at the top of the charts as a possible target for us. The team is called to show their pride, and work together to demonstrate how much good the job done so far is"
