FIA to reveal 2008 entry list next month

With the window, during which teams and manufacturers must register for the 2008 Formula One World Championship, about to open, FIA President, Max Mosley, is clearly applying further pressure on the 'rebels'.

Although entrants in the World Championship are not usually announced until shortly before the season begins - in the case of Super Aguri less than three months before the start of the 2006 season - details of the 2008 entry list will be published next month.

Article 45 of the 2008 Sporting Regulations states that: "All applications will be studied by the FIA and accepted or rejected in its absolute discretion. The FIA will publish the list of cars and drivers accepted together with their race numbers on 28 April 2006, having first notified unsuccessful applicants as set out in Article 41. Out-of-time applications will be considered separately."

The window opens on Friday 24 March and closes on Friday week.

"Rumours that prospective teams are camping in sleeping bags outside the Place de la Concorde office have been greatly exaggerated..." said a source.
