Predict Melbourne grid and win, win, win!!!

NEWS STORY
21/03/2006

It is surely cruel irony, and nothing more, that sees three of the top five most popular F1 circuits, according to the FIA/AMD Formula One Survey 2005, under threat.

Spa Francorchamps, which 53% of those fans who completed the survey said their interest in F1 would decrease if it was removed from the calendar, has already been dropped from the 2006 schedule, with Monza (43%) under serious threat, and now Suzuka (38%) looking set to lose out to the Toyota owned Fuji Speedway. Then again, we know that there is no love between Bernie Ecclestone and Silverstone (49%).

Yet one circuit will always be safe, Monaco, which for reasons known only to those who voted for it, was most popular with a 55% share.

Therefore, when Pitpass decided to offer its readers a no expense (literally) Formula One trip of a life time, the destination was obvious, Monaco... playground of the rich and famous, the brash and the beautiful.

To enter the Pitpass Monaco 2006 Competition, we want you to use your expert knowledge of the sport to predict the starting grid for the forthcoming Australian Grand Prix, due to be held at Melbourne on April 2.

All you have to do is give us your idea of the starting grid, and the reader with the most drivers in the correct position will receive this once in a lifetime trip.

Details of the competition hotline - all calls charged a 5 a minute - will appear here later this week. (Minimum call cost 25.00, so be prepared)

Closing date for the competition is Midnight on April 1 (GMT), which means that readers will have had around 19 hours to study the qualifying times and learn who has opted to change engines, whilst not forgetting to include those already forfeiting ten grid spots following the Malaysia Grand Prix.

In the event of a tie, readers will be requested to complete the following tie-break: Changing engines at every single round of the World Championship is a good way to reduce costs because.....

Prize winners will be notified in the hours leading up to the Monaco race, pretty much like the starting grid, and the Editor's decision is final... it always was.

Pitpass wishes you good luck… you'll need it!
