The BMW WilliamsF1 Team concluded their three day test in Jerez with a number of positive developments, finding some resolutions to the technical issues which have compromised the team's technical performance at the last two Grands Prix. Together with some resolutions, the team has also validated some new aero components due for introduction at Hockenheim

Over the three days, Heidfeld, Pizzonia and Rosberg completed 236 laps, a total of just over 1,045 kms. The team’s next test will take place in Monza, after the Turkish Grand Prix and at the end of the August testing ban. The three day test will commence on 24th August.

Sam Michael (Technical Director, WilliamsF1): "Today we continued testing using the FW27A (V10 engine) chassis which Nick ran all day. Antonio finished the FW27B (V8 engine) programme early yesterday. Nick spent the whole day working on mechanical and aerodynamic set-ups which included some quite different spring and roll bar settings. It has been a productive test on the FW27A which has confirmed many different items over the last three days. We have made some good progress, which is evident in the lap times. The test team has done a great job over the course of the test, despite the demanding conditions where temperatures have soared to over 40°C. We’re looking forward to Hockenheim now where we will have some more aerodynamic parts to improve the FW27.”

Mario Theissen (BMW Motorsport Director): "We have had a busy test in Jerez. The team’s main focus was the development of the FW27, which BMW supported. For us, the first rollout of next year’s V8 engine was the main issue. On the first day of testing we completed a couple of installation laps, while on day two we ran system checks related to the thermal performance of the engine. Furthermore, we analysed the vibrations of the engine and its implications for the chassis.”
