Stoddart warns of F1 split under Mosley

Minardi boss Paul Stoddart, who is also seen as spokesman for the nine 'rebel' teams, has repeated his call for Max Mosley to quit - or be ousted - as President of the FIA.

Talking to BBC Radio, the Australian said: "If Mosley stays in F1, there will be two series in 2008.

"There will be no unification under Mosley," he added. "It's not possible, the damage is too great."

The nine F1 teams, together with five manufacturers, met in Munich this week to discuss their proposals for F1, which could result in a possible 'breakaway' series, though a spokesman told Pitpass that this is not the primary objective and that those involved merely want to improve F1.

The situation has been deteriorating for some time and clearly came to a head at Indianapolis.

In the wake of the United States Grand Prix fiasco, Stoddart claimed that the responsibility lay with Mosley, who, in turn, referred to the Australian as a "sad man".
