Jordan will carry Toyota branding

NEWS STORY
08/02/2005

The appearance of the Jordan EJ15 sans decals at Silverstone on Monday has led to many message board wits coming up with their own suggestions as to potential sponsors for the Midland F1-owned team.

However, there will be at least one decal on the cars when they line up on the grid in Melbourne next month, that of engine supplier Toyota.

When the deal was announced in December, Toyota and Jordan were adamant that it would not "result in a re-branding of the Jordan team in 2005" and that "the Toyota name and logo will not be used in conjunction with those of Jordan Grand Prix".

Toyota has now confirmed that the Jordans, to be driven by Tiago Monteiro and Narain Karthikeyan, will now carry the Toyota logo.

"I can confirm that the Jordan Toyota EJ15 will run with "powered by Toyota" on its chassis livery this season," spokesman Chris Hughes told Pitpass today.
