Bernoldi quickest in the wet

On the sixth day of testing at Jerez de la Frontera, it was BAR's Enrique Bernoldi that topped the timesheets.

Although the sky was blue, not a cloud in sight, and temperatures nudged 17 degrees C, Saturday's test was wet, as the track was artificially soaked in order to allow Michelin to carry out wet weather testing with four of its teams.

In addition to running the most laps (116), Bernoldi also set the pace, finishing the day almost a second quicker that Juan Pablo Montoya, the only race driver present.

Toyota tester Ricardo zonta completed 114 laps, but was 2.5s off the pace, while Renault's Franck Montagny, who had a couple of minor 'offs', was fourth quickest.

Sunday is the final day of testing at Jerez, where once again Michelin will carry out wet weather evaluations. Only Kimi Raikkonen (McLaren) and Ricardo Zonta (Toyota) will be on duty.
