Dutch Grand Prix: Practice & Sprint Shootout notes - Cadillac

NEWS STORY
21/08/2026

The Cadillac Formula 1® Team returned to action today following the summer break, beginning the final edition of the Dutch Grand Prix with a Sprint weekend.

After a productive Free Practice 1 session in overcast and blustery conditions, Valtteri Bottas and Checo Perez were classified P20 and P21, respectively, in Sprint Qualifying.

The Cadillac duo will contest tomorrow's Sprint Race at 12 p.m. local time, followed by Qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix at 4 p.m.

Checo Perez:  "There's still a long weekend ahead of us, but hopefully we can make some improvements tomorrow and see what we can do. It was a challenging qualifying session, particularly because of the steering issue we've been experiencing since FP1, which made the car feel asymmetric. We understand what's happening, so hopefully we can resolve it tomorrow and take a step forward."

Valtteri Bottas: "We decided to go for three laps with a single cool and with hindsight, maybe lost a bit at the end with the tires overheating, but apart from that it was quite a straightforward session. Heading into tomorrow we should be okay with the brake issues we've been experiencing. It's a lot cooler here and as we saw from the running today, everything is as it should be, so let's see what we can do tomorrow."

Marc Hynes, Chief Racing Officer: "A clean SQ session in Zandvoort. We elected to prioritize the hard tires for Sunday's race and ran a couple of different strategies with Valtteri and Checo, both of which produced similar results. We are in close proximity to Williams and Aston Martin and will continue to push. With more mixed conditions forecast for tomorrow, we're looking forward to learning more on track during the Sprint."
