Gastaldi named Deputy Team Principal at Lotus

NEWS STORY
14/03/2014

Lotus has today confirmed Federico Gastaldi as Deputy Team Principal, a promotion for the Argentinian who has worked as the team’s Director of Business Development over the past few years.

The appointment adds depth to the management at the Enstone team following Eric Boullier’s departure for McLaren during the winter, Gastaldi’s role picking up some of the tasks previously managed by the Frenchman which could not be shared around the existing management team.

In reality the change makes very little difference. Since the departure of Eric Boullier, Gerard Lopez has assumed a greater role within the team while stepping back to co-chairman (with Andy Ruhan). Alan Permane remains in charge of trackside operations while the team’s CEO, Matthew Carter, remains in charge of the business side of activities.

Previously Gastaldi has been involved with the Benetton family and promoted the Argentinian Grand Prix. He joined Lotus in 2010 and has recently been in Venezuela firming up the relationship with PDVSA.
