Fines for Red Bull and Force India

NEWS STORY
07/07/2013

Red Bull and Force India have both been handed fines following stewards investigations into two pitlane incidents during today's German Grand Prix.

The Silverstone-based outfit was fined for the unsafe release of Paul di Resta into the past of Jean-Eric Vergne, the Frenchman having to take avoiding action as he entered his pit slot.

The stewards, having found that the team had "released Car 14 (di Resta) in an unsafe manner into the path of Car 18 (Vergne)”, a breach of Article 23.12 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations, fined it 5,000 euros.

In a more serious incident, Red Bull released Mark Webber before all four wheels had been safely fitted resulting in the right-rear wheel coming off as the car headed down the pitlane, passing four teams and eventually striking an FOM camera operator and causing injury.

For this incident, the Milton Keynes-based outfit was fined 30,000 euros.
