Quote of the day

NEWS STORY
10/06/2013

On a day ultimately marred by tragedy, the Canadian Grand Prix did at least give us a couple of things to smile about.

First off there was Lewis Hamilton's passable impression of Kimi Raikkonen. The Mercedes driver, when informed that the state of his tyres meant he could push a little harder, quickly snapped back with a "Please let me drive, man".

Meanwhile, whether inspired by Raikkonen's need for more points or simply the only thing Lewis ever seems to tweet about these days, Lotus tweeted: "Lewis, Roscoe needs a walk!"

Then there was Yesica, a young fan who 'proposed' to Sebastian Vettel courtesy of a banner. The youngster was subsequently plucked from the crowd to meet her idol, who made a real fuss of her, at which point her emotions got the better of her and she burst into tears.

Sniff.

However, as far as quote of the day is concerned, that had to go to the questionably excitable Eddie Jordan, who, having made a menace of himself on the gridwalk and risked turning the podium 'ceremony' into a pantomime, suggested, clearly without a hint of irony... "designers have massive egos".

Bigger sniff.
