Bahrain - Race 2 Quotes

Kamui Kobayashi - DAMS (Winner): Yesterday, I reckoned that a rostrum finish was a possibility and that would already have been a good result. Winning the race is fantastic! I've been on the rostrum twice this weekend and I've scored twelve points, so I'm well placed to snatch third place in the championship. My motivation was already strong; today it's been tripled!

Sebastien Buemi - Trust Team Arden (2nd): We had a great weekend! This result is really good for the team. They worked so hard on the car, and it was very competitive again today. When I see the standings, second place is within my reach. We had a hard time in Dubai last January. Let's see if we can fix this.

Vitaly Petrov - Barwa International Campos Team (3rd): The conditions of this track are ever changing, so we had to work hard on the set-up. I had a good start, but then I couldn't hold my position. But still, third place is a good result. I know that the title is gone, but I will fight really hard for second place. See you in Dubai!

Hiroki Yoshimoto - Qi-Meritus.Mahara (4th): It was a good start despite the incident at first corner with cars flying around. I thought that Sebastien Buemi was going to hit me when he cut the second corner and came out in front of me. I lost acceleration and had to back off. A few cars passed me again. I was soon back up again in sixth position and had gained six places. I found my pace and on the sixth lap, I managed to climb to fifth. Then it was a bit hairy with a lot of action and I managed to find a way through it all to finish fourth. I never stopped pushing and am proud to have a good finish I dedicate these points to my team with just one regret is that I did not make it to the podium this time.

Luca Filippi - Qi-Meritus.Mahara (11th): I had a good first lap and already made it to midfield. It was quite hard and tough out there and to be honest, I think we did the most we could do. After avoiding the first corner problems, I was watching out to keep the car in one piece. The race was ok and I had a good rhythm for the first part of the race and passed a number of cars until I got to 12th position. As I was attacking a lot and passed a lot of the other drivers I had a contact with Belgium Jerome d'Ambrosio who touched me and I had to let Hanley go by, but I did not give up and in the last corner I passed Jerome again and finished 11th.

Jerome d'Ambrosio - DAMS (12th): A race to forget. I couldn't take advantage of the first corner traffic jam and then I had tyre problems. I was tenth for most of the race but I lost two places near the end. It's a pity as I was hoping for a much better weekend after setting the seventh-quickest time yesterday.

Armaan Ebrahim - DPR (16th): It's rare for me to stall on the grid, but it was just one of those things that happens sometimes. I was forced to be pushed into the pits and the team restarted me, but that really put me out of contention. I ran the race distance and that's always valuable, I just hope I can have better luck next time.

Christian Bakkerud - Super Nova (DNF): I made a good start and managed to avoid Chandhok who spun in the first corner which caused a whole load of cars having to cross over the grass to avoid him. This wasn't a problem in itself but something came off one of the cars in front of me and this in turn hit my brake ducks which caused my brakes to overheat. I also damaged my front wing slightly while rejoining the track so after only three laps I unfortunately had to retire again. No brakes equals too dangerous to stay on track! I have now got the final GP2 Asia race at Dubai Autodrome in a week's time so I hope to be able to turn things around and finish well and move on to the main series in a more positive way.

Diego Nunes - DPR (DNF): I was pushed off track by Chandhok in the run down to the first corner and had a fight to get through it, especially as he gave me so little room. There was a lot of contact through the first few corners and then I was spun round. There was damage to my car and that was the end of my race. I'm disappointed, but I can't look back, but must look to the next race weekend, which is only a week away.

Bruno Senna - iSport International (DNF): There's not much to say about today's race except that the team are looking into the problem. We're not sure if it is related to the problem I had on the final lap of yesterday's race so we're looking into everything. I'm just turning my focus now to next week in Dubai and aiming for maximum points to achieve the best possible championship position.
