A1 Team USA has announced that an agreement has been reached between the team and Speed Channel to televise the twelve races of the 2006-07 season.

Coverage is set to begin December 6, 2006 and will continue as A1GP roves the world, taking its adrenaline-charged series to twelve cities on six continents through to the April 2007 finale in Brands Hatch, Great Britain.

A1 Team USA owner, Rick Weidinger is looking forward to bringing all the high-speed drama of A1GP races directly to approximately 70 million American homes and 5 million Canadian homes.

"As we promised last month, this is a great development for the American motorsport enthusiast as well as the American patriot who wants to support their home team. Now they can watch it on the premier motorsport channel – the Speed Channel." Weidinger continued, "We look forward to developing an excellent partnership with Speed Channel. Later this month we hope to introduce to the Speed Channel a video providing an insiders' look into the world of A1GP and A1 Team USA. We had a film crew shadow us in Beijing, China. We gave the crew complete access, and we hope the Channel finds the piece attractive and entertaining."

US viewers tuning into the debut broadcast won't have any problem getting behind their nation's team as A1 Team USA is off to a very promising start this season. In the October 1 season-opener in The Netherlands, A1 Team USA capitalized on a strategic gamble during a mid-race thunderstorm and was able to outpace 23 of its competitors to earn a second place finish. The most recent race in Sepang, Malaysia saw A1 Team USA bring home its second top-ten finish of the young season with a 6th place finish. The Netherlands race will be the first broadcast of A1 GP on the Speed Channel today at 4 PM EST.

A1GP is broadcast live across the world to over 150 countries using the latest in digital technology. Due to time zone differences, the races will air on the Wednesday following the actual race.
