Gene remains at Ferrari

NEWS STORY
10/11/2006

Ferrari has confirmed that Marc Gene will be retained as test driver in 2007, alongside Luca Badoer.

The Spaniard, who has been with the Italian team since the end of 2004, previously performed a similar role at WilliamsF1.

Having made his race debut with Minardi in 1999, he subsequently contested three further races with WilliamsF1 in 2003 and 2004, standing in for Ralf Schumacher.

With the teams having agreed to a considerable reduction in testing next season, mainly due to the end of the 'tyre war', following the withdrawal of Michelin, and Badoer employed as lead test driver, it remains to be seen exactly how much work the Spaniard will have to do.
