Team Ireland attracts sponsors

NEWS STORY
12/06/2006

A1 Team Ireland has successfully negotiated a number of sponsorships since the end of the inaugural season, and is confident that the team will secure further backing before the opening round of season two in Zandvoort on October 1st.

The team has built interest among business associates of A1 Team Ireland's investors, attracting interest and support after successfully completing a competitive first season in A1 Grand Prix.

"We have seen an upturn in interest in Ireland now that everyone has had the opportunity to see the team compete and gauge public interest in A1 Grand Prix," said team boss Mark Gallagher. "Mark Kershaw, our CEO, has managed to secure several deals which we will announce in due course. It shows that, as we all expected, it would take the first season to put A1 Grand Prix in people's minds and then to generate the interest necessary to secure sponsorship. We are still seeking a headline sponsor for the team and with several deals in place it makes the task of generating interest that much easier."
