As wily as ever

NEWS STORY
15/09/2005

Despite being confined to a wheelchair, Frank Williams is as much of a 'backs-against-the-wall' fighter as he ever was.

Sections of the media appear to believe that HP's decision to pull out of F1, ending its sponsorship of the WilliamsF1 team, will be the catalyst that causes the Englishman to give in and do a deal that will see Jenson Button get what he wants (this year) and remain at BAR.

Truth is, the HP sponsorship deal was always shaky, and it was only a matter of when not if the company was to withdraw from F1.

Williams has shown many times in the past that he will not be held to ransom, and drivers with wins, indeed titles, to their credit, have discovered this the hard way.

Do not let the wheelchair fool you for a moment, Williams is as wily as ever and his team is not a team on its uppers.
