Ferrari responds to comments and meeting

If you were to believe much of what you read in recent days, you would be forgiven for forming the impression that Ferrari was not only responsible for the threat hanging over the British and French Grands Prix, but just about every other malaise currently facing F1.

Following Tuesday's meeting, which Ferrari was unable to attend, we have witnessed sensational headlines claiming that the British GP will go ahead, in addition to the implementation of a 'control tyre' and a reduction in testing, despite Ferrari.

Contacted by Pitpass, Ferrari spokesman, Luca Colajanni, attempted to put the record straight and get the facts out into the open.

"We do not consider ourselves as victim," he said, "we never did it in the past and we will never do it in the future!

"As we said in Sao Paulo, it is artificial to link the fate of Silverstone and Magny-Cours to the cost cutting. We said we have nothing against a 19-race season, if all the participants agree.

"Regarding cost cutting," he continued, "we do think the problem has to be approached in a global way, not limiting the measures just to one single aspect of it.

"Also, we do not have to forget that the finances of a team are made of expenses and incomes: this last has not been even mentioned in the latest meetings."
