Despite the possibility of a test role with McLaren next season, David Coulthard has made it clear that he wants to race.

Although the Scottish veteran has been linked with a number of teams, the most likely scenario is that he will move to Jaguar.

However, according to British tabloid The News of the World, if the 13-time GP winner is to join the Milton Keynes outfit, he will face a serious pay cut.

"David would be a very good driver for us," a source told the paper, "but he has to get into the real world. He has been used to life on Planet McLaren. He has to remember this is Planet Ford."

The Scot wasted no time is stating his side of the case: "I am still passionate about driving," he said. "Money has never been my motivation, and I want to carry on racing next year."
