Jordan wraps up Silverstone test

Jordan Grand Prix completed its Silverstone test today with Tiago Monteiro and Narain Karthikeyan at the wheel making progress with the EJ15 test schedule despite damp weather conditions limiting track running.

Monteiro carried out a programme which included start and pit stop practice as well as general testing work, while Karthikeyan installed a new Jordan Toyota EJ15 chassis in preparation for Jordan's two car test at Barcelona next week from 15 to 18 February.

Trevor Carlin, Sporting Director of Jordan Grand Prix: "The foggy and rainy weather conditions which are fairly typical for Silverstone at this time of year have restricted our work a bit this week but we are pleased to have got over 900km of test mileage despite that. The drivers know what they have to do and are really stuck in to the programme now which is great. We had a late start but so much has progressed in the last three weeks. We're ready to go with two cars and looking forward to getting through a lot more of our test plans next week in Barcelona."

Tiago Monteiro: "It was a successful week overall. It was a time to get to know each other, check a lot of things and get everything up and running. I think we achieved that. We didn't get much running in the dry and I really wish I could have done more dry laps. But other than that I'm happy just getting used to my new life and colleagues. There are a lot of people to get to know and it's fun working with them, I've had some great moments. My first week in F1 has been exciting and really busy. Now we are going to build on it and I just can't wait to get back in the car next week."

Narain Karthikeyan: "Wednesday was a good day for me and we got a lot done. This week we have made a start with our huge workload of preparation for this season and it's been really enjoyable getting going in F1. The weather has been pretty poor but I'm used to that now in England! We've got the car installed and I'm looking forward to more testing in a few days time."

Mexican driver Mario Dominguez visited the factory this week and began participating in the team's test session today however he had completed a single installation lap before foggy conditions cut short the test.
