Michael Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm has attended the opening of an exhibition honouring the racing legend.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition in Marburg, Germany, Kehm offered the first official comment on the German in many months.

"He is the most successful driver in history and sometimes, on days like this, it is good to be reminded of it," she said.

"Of course, Michael is not here and of course we miss him. We know what has happened and cannot change it.

"We must accept it and hope with everything we have that with continued support and patience he will one day be back with us.

"Racing was his life and no one would have liked to have been here more than him."

Following his skiing accident in France in December 2013, the seven-time champion was kept in an induced coma for several months, and since September 2014 has been receiving specialist care at his home by Lake Geneva.

Details of the exhibition, which is scheduled to run for two years and is organised by Schumacher's long-time sponsor Deutsche Vermogensberatung, can be found here. (In German)

Along with some of the German's cars, overalls and helmets, other privately owned items are on display.
