The Korean GP Podcast

NEWS STORY
08/10/2013

Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull may have all but secured their fourth consecutive titles but they barely rate a mention in the latest Pitpass podcast.

Mat Coch and editor Chris Balfe are joined once again by Glen 'Crompo' Crompton as the trio take a somewhat skewed look back at the Korean Grand Prix.

Of special interest is Sergio Perez who prompts emotive monologues from both Balfe and Crompo who aren't sold on the Pirelli company line.

There is also concern for Mark Webber as serious questions are raised over the handling of the Australian's engine fire, though naturally Crompo can't help but take a cheeky swipe at his country-man.

A tough weekend for Force India didn't go unnoticed, while Marussia and Caterham will perhaps hope it had.

Running at less than fifteen minutes it's a quick fire - no pun intended - wrap-up of the Korean Grand Prix during which Balfe, Coch and Crompo at times manage to stay on topic but for the large part bicker among themselves... no change there then.

"Really liked the podcast about the Korean race. As usual I ran the total race distance in all of the cars used in F1 2012 on test laps, and I wouldn't have qualified in any of them. It's amazing that Korea made the Bahrain races look well attended. Maybe they need to combine the F1 race weekend with a National Track Day. The random Corvette, Camaro, Jaguar or even a Kia tuner car on the track might improve the coverage. Nice to see the Jeep Commander in front of the field, a change form F1's herd of Mercs.
The unsafe after too many laps Pirellis have to go, bring back Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, Firestone, Dunlop or even Avon. Hembery is a well paid fall guy, but risking drivers with unsafe tires is stupid.
I like the Aussie slang. If Mark & Daniel from RBR can be called Bruces, can you call Sauber's team principal Monisha Kaltenborn "Shiela". The University of Wallamaloo is live and well. Monty Python forever!"
