Kubica focuses on rehabilitation

Ahead of back-to-back rallies with Citroen, Robert Kubica admits that he has no concrete plans for the future, focussing purely on rehabilitation.

The pole, who was critically injured in a rallying accident early last year, will contest the Rally di Como this weekend and the Rallye du Var the week after, the events taking place in Italy and France respectively.

Speaking to Reuters, the popular Pole appeared to confirm that hope of a return to F1 is all but over, but he doesn't rule out other top flight racing.

"For the, let's say future, I don't have any plans up until now," he said. "In the end, I am still at the stage of rehabilitation but for sure I would love to compete in a high level championship, or in a rally or on a circuit.

"Until now I did some rallies, I did some testing on the race track and I hope my hand will improve and my general condition will improve," he added.

As the long, long recovery process continues, Kubica, whose right arm is not yet strong enough to manage single-seaters, admitted that a return to the top flight is some way off.

"It is has been a long time unfortunately since I stopped with Formula One, so my contacts are very limited because in all these months I have been concentrating on coming back and getting my health and body back to the best condition," he said.

It goes without saying that we wish him the very best.
