Kubica adamant he'll be on the grid next year

Robert Kubica is adamant that he will line up on the grid for the 2012 season with Lotus Renault GP.

Still recovering from the injuries incurred in his horrific accident during a rally in February, the Pole took part in a Q&A with fans for his team's official website.

When asked if he will be on the grid next season, the Pole was emphatic; "yes," came the response.

Asked how his recovery is going, he replied: "Mentally, no problem at all. Physically, I am still a bit weak but my general condition is quite good. My weight has now returned to its normal level and for a few weeks I've been able to walk without help. All in all I feel pretty well.

"I am satisfied with how things are proceeding," he continued. "The improvement is in line with the expectations, and luckily there are no complications that could affect the recovery time. It is still too early to have a clear picture for the timing of my return but the important thing is the final outcome not the hurry."

When asked about the crash, which happened during a rally in Italy just days after the first F1 test of the year, and how it might affect him psychologically when he climbs back into an F1 car, he admitted: "I don't think so, I don't have any memory of the accident, and I am just aware of the consequences it had. So, to me, it's as if it never happened."

However, while still in the dark as far as his accident is concerned the popular Pole is in no doubt about who he'll be driving for next season.

"I'm a Lotus Renault GP driver," he replied. "Of course, I'm missing not being able to drive this season but I feel that my job in Enstone isn't finished yet."

Finally, asked if he will stronger as a driver, he replied: "Let's hope so! But in reality I don't see why, because I think I will be back exactly the way I was. We will have to wait until the first test in 2012."
