Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat claims that 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen is to take part in a number of NASCAR events this year alongside his rallying commitments.

According to the report, the former F1 star will enter a number of NASCAR races with the ICE1 team when WRC commitments with Citroen permit.

"I am excited about getting to know NASCAR world. I have been following it for a long time," the paper quotes him as saying. "I am 100 percent sure it will be fun and challenging."

The paper said Raikkonen, who is said to be in talks with a number of manufacturers, will make his debut in the truck series before then moving up to other NASCAR series.
