Rubython heading to Hollywood with Hunt?

There is talk doing the rounds that Tom Rubython's recently released biography of James Hunt is to form the basis of a movie with up-and-coming English actor Alex Pettyfer playing the lead role.

The story of James Hunt's life, both on and off track, is one of the most absorbing in the history of sport. The dashing, public school educated Englishman living a life that today's characters could only dream of.

Having won the 1976 world championship, Hunt was to subsequently find a place in the hearts of races fans when he formed a legendary commentary team with Murray Walker. Sadly however, he was to die of a heart attack in 1993 aged 45, one of the first F1 world champions to die of natural causes.

Now, in the wake of Rubython's book 'Shunt', Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg is understood to have bought the rights in order to make the movie with his DreamWorks studio, with protege Pettyfer playing the title role. Ironically, Pettyfer hails from Stevenage, birthplace of Lewis Hamilton.

While the idea of an F1 movie will no doubt go down well with race fans, our sources suggest that the Hunt family, already unhappy with Rubython's book, are extremely worried about the idea of it forming the basis for a movie.
