Brawn GP has scooped an unprecedented three awards at the 2009 Professional MotorSport World Expo Awards, which honour the sport's outstanding teams, technologies, personalities and facilities.

The newly-crowned winners of the 2009 Constructors' Championship took the top slots in the categories for 'Vehicle Development of the Year', 'Design Engineer of the Year' and 'Team Principal of the Year' to round off a truly remarkable debut season.

"On behalf of the team at Brawn GP and Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines, it is an honour to have won three awards," said Ross Brawn. "2009 has been a fantastic year for Brawn GP and to have won the Constructors' and Drivers' Championships after the challenges that we faced prior to the start of the season has been immensely rewarding.

"Everyone who worked on the BGP 001 car should be very proud of their contribution to our success," he continued, "which has seen the car win eight races this season. We look forward to building on our successes into next year and beyond."

Other category winners were the F1 Marshalling System developed by EM Motorsport for the FIA, which scooped the 'Safety Initiative of the Year Award'; the Autodromo do Algarve, which was voted 'Motorsport Facility of the Year'; the DigiTyre IR tyre pressure & temperature measurement system from BERU f1systems, which won 'Testing Technology of the Year'; and the ALMS and F1 KERS technology developed by Zytek Automotive, which secured the 'Powertrain Innovation of the Year' Award.

Speaking of EM Motorsport's Safety Initiative of the Year Award, Charlie Whiting, the FIA's chief steward said: "We are very pleased with the EM Motorsport F1 Marshalling System (F1MS) which we have used at all Formula One races since the beginning of 2007. The FIA has always been committed to increasing safety in motorsport and the F1MS has provided us with an incredibly useful tool to enhance awareness of what's happening on the track at all times. Further enhancements to the system, namely the Electronic Flags and the Safety Car panels, have provided additional safety for drivers."
