Mosley returns to F1 duty

NEWS STORY
22/05/2008

FIA President Max Mosley made a low-key return to Formula One yesterday, his first (GP related) outing since the News of the World broke its infamous exclusive in late March.

According to an FIA spokesman, Mosley enjoyed a number of meetings, with Flavio Briatore, Stefano Domenicali, Pat Symonds and Rory Byrne all summoned to the Englishman's office in the Race Control tower over the course of the day.

However, despite a number of false alarms, there were no public appearances, no strolls through the paddock, much to the frustration of the numerous journalists and photographers attempting to follow his every move.

The FIA spokesman insists that it is "business as usual" for Mosley, who has a number of meetings scheduled over the next few days, however, it is claimed that several teams are anxious not to 'bump into' the 67-year-old.

Yesterday, the paddock was abuzz following Bernie Ecclestone's clear threat to the FIA President, the F1 supremo effectively telling a British newspaper that if Mosley wanted war that is what he would get.

While Mosley is expected to keep out of the public eye over the next couple of days, he is expected to be on the grid for Sunday's race.
