Ammermuller continues for Germany

Willi Weber's A1 Team Germany aims to start a fight back between 14 and 16 December at the Chinese circuit Zhuhai, round four of the ten-round A1GP World Cup of Motorsport. The defending Champions lost ten points in Malaysia after the stewards' decision robbed the team of its first podium of the season after the race had finished.

"It's really unfortunate that we lost ground to the leading nations in the standings in this manner," explains Willi Weber. "This is why we approach the next race even more ambitiously. Michael Ammermüller (right) demonstrated on his debut in Malaysia that he belongs at the sharp end of the grid. After the last race we want to give a clear answer in China to the decisions made, and that is with a good performance on the track. Nobody should underestimate us. Michael familiarised himself quickly with a previously unknown circuit, a new team and a new car. Why shouldn't he spring a surprise again in Zhuhai?"

The A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, now in its third year, starts for the first time at the 4.3 kilometre circuit of Zhuhai in the South Chinese province Guangdong. The circuit built in 1996 close to the picturesque flower filled tourist city offers great overtaking opportunities at the end of its 500 and 900 metre straights. Zhuhai signals the first of two A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport races in the People's Republic of China; with the ninth of ten race weekends in Shanghai another A1 GP event on mainland China follows in April 2008.

"I've whet my appetite," admits Michael Ammermüller after his first race for Willi Weber's team. "The championship is excellent, I'm enjoying racing and enjoy working with this team. In Zhuhai I aim to score similar results to those which we'd hoped for after qualifying on the second row and those which we were robbed of long after the race had finished. My motivation is high."
