Ferrari, Jordan and Red Bull attend meeting with Max

This morning's meeting in Paris with Max Mosley went ahead as planned.

We understand that proceedings began at 09:30 (local time) and finished around 14:15.

Present were FIA President Max Mosley, technical delegate Charlie Whiting, and director of communications Richard Woods, in addition to Bernie Ecclestone, Jean Todt and Ross Brawn, both representing Ferrari.

As predicted, both Jordan and Red Bull were represented, with team principals Colin Kolles and Christian Horner in attendance.

According to Pitpass' sources the meeting was both "constructive" and "positive".

The focus, especially in light of the subsequent press release, is to move matters along in order to fit in with the strict timetable the FIA faces as it looks ahead to 2008.

A source said that the FIA is eager to consult with all interested parties, hence the two meetings, in January and April, both of which have been 'snubbed' by a majority of the teams.

The source added that the FIA is happy to receive input from the teams and stakeholders, but that it must meet the FIA's timetable. This is contrary to Ron Dennis' claim that "there is no need to hurry".

"By acting now, this will give the necessary timing for all proposals to be considered," said the source, who added that the FIA is "willing to listen to anyone intending to compete in the 2008 championship".

The rules must be finalised by December, however, since there are only four meetings of the World motor Sport council each year, and a whole raft of issues to be discussed and agreed, the clock is already ticking.

None of the teams that stayed away from today's meeting officially responded to the invitation.
