Schumacher wants to keep fighting

NEWS STORY

Anyone hoping that Michael Schumacher might announce his retirement today, will be sorely disappointed to hear that it hasn't crossed the seven-time world champion's mind.

"I heard that I was here to announce that today," he told journalists at Monza today, "I'm sorry, you all know that I'm not.

"I love the sport," he continued, "it's in my blood to compete and to fight. To try and beat my opponents and to win. That's just what I'm living for in a way, and as long as I can live that dream, I want to live it."

Asked if he has any idea when the day might finally dawn, when he realizes that enough is enough, the German laughed. "Let's see how the competitiveness is inside me," he said. "That's the important point. As long as I'm competitive and able to fight with the young boys, I'm quite happy."

And so are we Michael, as are the "young boys" who all aspire to take your crown.
