Ahead of its traditional media meeting in the Dolomites, Ferrari has revealed that it is building a new factory in Maranello which will house the offices of the management, engineers and administrative staff along with the working areas of the team.
Just a week into the new year, the first excavations have begun of the foundations of the building which is currently used as a car park, and is situated between the Cavallino restaurant and the current team HQ.
According to the team the aim is to create an environment that has been well thought through for the people who will work there. The Italian company has benefited from the many positive steps taken in favour of its employees and their families, consequently earning it the title "Best place to work in Europe" from the Financial Times.
In recent days the company has been working together with the district of Maranello to iron out all the administrative details.
Following the Wrooom media event next week (14 - 18), the team is aiming to unveil its 2013 contender in the "very first days of February" at Maranello, though no exact date has been given. Sources currently say it will either be the 1st or 2nd, either way it will be ahead of the Jerez test which begins on February 5.
